Finding a solution to equip India’s graduates with market-ready skills
Kristu Jayanti University in India prioritizes graduate employability by equipping students with data skills to analyze trends and opportunities across industries. Founded in 1999 and now autonomous, it ranks among India’s top 50 educational institutions, offering programs in arts, sciences, management, and commerce to nearly 15,000 students.
Hundreds join its computer science department each year, driving the need for a curriculum focused on data literacy. However, the university initially lacked a single program covering analytics, architecture, and data science fluency.

APPROACH
Complete offering of professional tools for academic use
Kristu Jayanti University joined the Qlik Academic Program in 2019 to equip students with in-demand data skills through hands-on Qlik Sense® training. Over 1,000 students have participated, earning the Qlik Sense Business Analyst Qualification and the Qlik Sense Data Architect Qualification.
The program’s simple, no-code tools inspired a peer-teaching model and expanded interest beyond computer science. Students now gain confidence, industry recognition, and real-world problem-solving skills, guided by Qlik Educator Ambassador Dr. Kalaiselvi.

RESULTS
Curriculum integration with easy-to-use tools boost data analytics fluency
Dr. Kalaiselvi integrated the Qlik Academic Program into Kristu Jayanti’s undergraduate curriculum, allowing students to earn credits through data analytics courses and Qlik qualifications and certifications.
