Overcoming legacy limitations with seamless operations

Grill’d, an Australian restaurant chain with over 170 locations, prioritizes customer experience and operational efficiency. However, its aging 10 to 15-year-old legacy system struggled to handle growing data demands, causing outages and scalability issues.

Managing data from sales, rostering, and customer feedback was slow and restrictive. Even after cloud migration, Grill’d needed seamless data integration. To support multiple developers and frequent requests, it required a robust platform to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Data extraction and orchestration on one platform

Qlik Talend helped Grill’d streamline data extraction and orchestration across multiple sources with minimal complexity. The team sought a low-code platform to save time, allowing for visual drag-and-drop pipeline building.

Qlik Talend’s flexibility enabled seamless data integration, handling 100 to 200 million records weekly without performance issues. It expanded data capacity from five to 25 sets and integrated with third-party sources. Qlik Talend also enhanced reporting for Grill’d’s Mystery Shopper system, improving service quality.

Qlik Talend has transformed Grill’d’s operations by enabling seamless data ingestion, transmission, and visualization in a single pipeline. This has optimized resource allocation through initiatives like Red Light, Green Light. Accurate rostering can now happen, replacing time consuming manual spreadsheets.

Qlik Talend also ensures compliance through the Restaurant Review initiative and swiftly addresses operational issues. With support of Snowflake, queries that once took seven hours can now be done in minutes, driving efficiency and better customer experience.
