AÉSIO Mutuelle Accelerates Use of Data with Qlik Cloud

AÉSIO Mutuelle's business teams leverages the company's data with complete autonomy, to improve responsiveness and develop its data science

ParisQlik®, a global leader in data integration, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI), today announced that AÉSIO Mutuelle, a French mutual insurance company specializing in health and personal insurance, has chosen Qlik to enable its business users to fully leverage the potential of their data with complete autonomy. Qlik Cloud Analytics® enables the organization to access the data they need autonomously, visualize and analyze it, and develop analytical applications that allow them to accelerate business outcomes, while Talend® Data Fabric brings together the company’s various data sources for optimal data management.

Created by the merger of its three founding mutuals ADRÉA, APRÉVA, and EOVI-MCD in January 2021, AÉSIO Mutuelle initially had to deal with a fragmented IT landscape. Each mutual brought its own information system and databases, creating both technical and functional silos between the various departments. In addition, multiple analytical tools were used by their business lines to render the data. This produced unsatisfactory results in terms of response times for the analytical systems, which could sometimes take up to 48-hours. AÉSIO's objective was, therefore, to improve its data management and optimize its various processes to help its business teams gain greater autonomy and responsiveness.

“It was essential to carry out an in-depth review of the system, to standardize tools and practices,” explained Jean-François Monier, Chief Data Scientist, Strategy and Data Management Department, at AÉSIO Mutuelle. “We wanted to build a solid foundation to meet the demands of management, who wanted to implement data science to better manage the company. Therefore, we selected Qlik, as well as Snowflake to optimize our cloud storage and develop our data science.”

Qlik enables AÉSIO Mutuelle to benefit from better integration and use of its data, which is now located in Snowflake, while being able to obtain relevant analyses up to ten times faster than before. In addition, the solution makes it easier for business teams to develop analytical applications based directly on Qlik's self-service capabilities, which has enabled some 770 applications to be developed by over 600 users.

This step, which was requested by AÉSIO's data management team, has enabled the business teams to become more mature in their use of the tool and the responsibilities associated with it. This new arrangement is also of great benefit to AÉSIO's marketing department, which relies heavily on data to conduct its operations. The department is now able to make the most of applications created with Qlik to conduct dynamic analyses and enhance its customer knowledge.

“In choosing Qlik, we have been able to automatically benefit from new features as the product evolves practically every week. Added to this, our new Qlik data platform has completely changed the game by breaking down application silos and giving our business users easy access to data, allowing them to make better-informed decisions,” concluded Monier.

To bring together the company’s various data sources, AESIO implemented Talend Data Fabric allowing the company to load its data to Snowflake before it is moved to Qlik Cloud. To help automate this process, the company uses Qlik Automate® enabling business users to act on real-time data, saving on time in day-to-day operations.

Finally, the company was also able to implement a new, more efficient governance of its data by setting up a dedicated 'data' team responsible for supporting its business users in using the new functionalities of the Qlik platform.
