How to make Data Work for Agentic AI

For decades, organizations have worked to use data to make better decisions and drive better outcomes. Data has become the lifeblood of the business, and AI now has the power to unlock it in new ways. The paradigm is shifting, from dashboards and visual interfaces to AI driven experiences.

But too much data is still stuck in silos, incomplete, and inaccurate. Many analytics workflows remain manual, which slows time to value, limits insight quality, and raises cost. Even AI assisted work can stall because analysts still have to assemble inputs and ask exactly the right questions to get to an answer.

What if AI could do more of the heavy lifting, safely and reliably?

That’s the promise of agentic AI, and it’s quickly becoming reality. Agentic AI can reason through multi step problems, adapt its approach, and engage the right capabilities to achieve a goal with minimal human involvement. Done right, it accelerates insight, lowers cost, and lets teams focus more on running the business, not manual tasks.

At Qlik, our vision is an intelligent network of agents that work together like people do, breaking down problems, gathering the right resources and data, making decisions, and taking the next best actions.

What we’re announcing

Today, we’re launching our new agentic experience, which includes turnkey agents for structured data analytics, unstructured knowledge, anomaly discovery, and help & assistance. And we’re introducing our MCP server, enabling third-party AI assistants to tap into Qlik’s power for custom-built AI solutions.

Whether using our agents or accessing Qlik through MCP, Qlik’s unique capabilities help you realize the full potential of AI.

Our trusted data products are high-quality, curated data sets for AI, creating a timely, accurate and governed foundation. Our one-of-a-kind analytics engine unlocks that data, supporting chain-of-thought reasoning with fast, cost-efficient calculations and delivering new levels of contextual intelligence. Together, these enable our agentic experience, unifying your data, agents, assistants and platforms to perform powerful analysis, automate multi-step tasks and achieve complex goals.

There are two front doors, and both are intentional.

  • Inside Qlik: Our AI Assistant Qlik Answers is the unified interface, grounded in our analytics engine and data products, so answers are fast, explainable, and context aware. It’s designed to get teams to value quickly, without rebuilding what they already trust.

  • Through the assistant you already use: Our MCP Server makes Qlik’s agentic capabilities available to third party AI assistants and agentic development environments, with governance and oversight. Customers can use their assistant of choice, while Qlik provides the trusted data foundation, context rich analytics, and governed action paths.

Availability

Generally available now: Qlik Answers, our AI assistant inside Qlik, is available now, and the MCP Server provides governed access to Qlik through external assistants and custom builds.

Available later this month, Data Products for Analytics, included with Qlik Cloud Analytics Premium and Enterprise and Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS, will provide curated, timely, accurate, governed datasets that power these experiences. Shortly after, Discovery Agent will monitor KPIs across dimensions, detect meaningful change, and let users open findings directly in Qlik Answers.

Making Data Work for AI

These announcements strengthen our promise in three practical ways, and they reinforce a point that matters, Qlik is not just the foundation. We’re focused on the foundation and driving better business outcomes.

  • Achieve AI: Qlik Answers brings trusted answers into Qlik, and MCP lets teams stay in the assistant they prefer, while Qlik keeps governance and context intact.

  • Accelerate AI: customers have invested thousands of hours in Qlik data models and business logic. This builds on that foundation so you can prove value faster, then expand as usage grows.

  • Adapt AI: the agentic era won’t be one assistant, one vendor, one stack. Our architecture is designed for interoperability, so customers can evolve without starting over.

What we learned in Private Preview

We made our agentic experience available in Private Preview to learn fast in real customer conditions, with real data, real roles, and real questions. A few examples stood out.

  • A commercial leader asked, what changed in renewals this quarter, and what should we do next? The value was seeing drivers, segments, and supporting context in one place, then turning that into a plan for the next customer conversation.

  • An operations team investigated a spike in service issues and moved from something is up to where it’s concentrated, what’s correlated, and what to check first, without stitching together multiple apps and documents.

  • A finance team pushed hard on traceability, reconciling narrative and numbers, and asking, show me the evidence, because trust depends on being able to explain the answer.

We also validated this with benchmarking. In an internal benchmark comparing Qlik Answers for structured data against a leading alternative, Qlik delivered 69.6% accuracy versus 65.2%, paired with straightforward “a question is a question” pricing and a focus on insight rich responses, not just raw query output.

Access, activation, and upgrade paths

We designed this to be simple to adopt, especially for customers who want to move quickly.

  • If you are a Qlik Cloud Analytics customer: MCP Server is available globally Feb 10, and Qlik Answers begins rolling out by AWS region starting Feb 10. Data Products arrive Feb 24, with Discovery Agent to follow.

  • If you are a Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS customer: MCP Server is available globally Feb 10. Qlik Answers is available Feb 24, and Data Products are available Feb 24 with Discovery Agent shortly after.

  • If you want the full capacity-based agentic experience at scale: your account team can guide the upgrade path to Qlik Cloud Analytics capacity, which is the foundation for broader adoption across Qlik Cloud Analytics and Qlik Talend Cloud.

  • If you are on prem: you don’t need to compromise or start over. Unlock agentic capabilities through a Move to Cloud plan, and in 2026 we’ll work with customers through phased, practical, value led plays, while keeping governance intact.

My Point of View

My POV is that the AI story is moving past models. The hard work is making AI dependable, explainable, and useful in the flow of work. If you can’t connect analytics and knowledge, and you can’t govern what happens next, you don’t have agentic AI, you have automation without accountability.

This is Making Data Work for AI, strengthened, and made real at enterprise scale.
