CHALLENGE

Transformation starts from within

As the leading IT business in Japan, and one of the top 10 worldwide, Fujitsu understands more than most the importance of digital transformation and the value of managing and controlling its data to achieve that aim.

However, Fujitsu’s data was scattered across a disparate range of sources, including ERP and CRM systems, over 50 SaaS solutions and a range of homegrown platforms. It needed a solution that would allow it to access and integrate this data and enable users across the business to navigate it to gain valuable insights.

APPROACH

Data simplification and integration

Fujitsu selected Qlik Cloud® Data Integration, working with an AWS-based data lake, as the tool to centralize access to the business’ data and ensure its availability and reliability.

This has significantly simplified a previously complex and highly time-consuming process. Fujitsu can now make data available for analysis in real time through a broad range of valuable Qlik Cloud Analytics dashboards. After seeing the impact of data visualization at a management level, Fujitsu plans to deliver Qlik analytics to 120,000 employees at all levels of its operation.

RESULTS

A common source of truth

Fujitsu now has a robust and reliable platform on which to build out its vision to be a data-driven business. Its senior management teams now have a common source on which to base discussions, take decisions and develop strategy – including areas such as AI. Some 60,000 staff are now making decisions based on insights in Qlik – a figure that will rise by 70,000 in the coming year.

Each department uses Qlik’s self-service capabilities to work independently. One of the first successes is the creation of an app that provides a single view of the complex global sales pipeline.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Informing a data-driven business

The issues that Fujitsu overcame are typical of those faced by global organizations operating a plethora of mutually independent and siloed systems.

Qlik Cloud Data Integration with Qlik Cloud Analytics can turn the valuable data that these platforms contain into high-value insights that can inform decisions from board level to the production floor. The result is a great user experience that’s harnessing high-quality, high-value data to drive businesses forward.
