When global retail and supermarket brands need to understand the environmental impact and regulatory implications of the products they sell, they turn to Valpak.

The company helps retailers navigate and comply with complex government packaging regulations. The data submission and verification process has historically involved onerous manual extracts and spreadsheets. Customers lacked real insight into products’ material mixes, making it difficult to optimize packaging and cut compliance costs, which are currently soaring under new Extended Producer Responsibility rules.

APPROACH

A trusted ecosystem of innovation

Partnering with Qlik and trusted reseller Catalyst BI, Valpak built its Insight Platform using Qlik Cloud Analytics. The business also adopted Qlik Talend Cloud to automate data ingestion from disparate sources into reliable pipelines.

An OEM agreement now allows Valpak to offer customized, individual cloud tenants globally, while the recent addition of Qlik Answers brings advanced natural-language querying to compliance data. It also acts as a powerful data quality tool, automatically reviewing millions of SKUs to ensure integrity.
