CHALLENGE

Streamlining and updating the decision support platform

The French Ministry of Armed Forces (Minarm) was faced with the increasingly complex task of managing data across numerous different entities. Traditional tools were no longer able to rapidly meet the needs of its users with a wide range of responsibilities: from supervising innovation projects to maintaining military equipment, not to mention support functions such as finance and HR. All of these activities require large volumes of heterogeneous and, in some cases, highly technical data.

To adopt responsive management with a decisively data-centric approach, it was necessary to upgrade and streamline its decision-making tools.

APPROACH

Comprehensive and responsive platform for controlled governance

Developing Minarm’s decision-making system was a large-scale project requiring careful consideration of the data platform architecture. Qlik Sense is currently employed by thousands of users who can now access data visualization and analysis applications developed to meet their needs. A write-back extension makes it possible to manage planning and simulations.

Qlik Talend Data Integration handles data integration and transformation in its new centralized information center. Qlik Replicate enables real-time data replication for specific use cases requiring quick responses.

RESULTS

Successful data-centric transformation

The adoption of Qlik enabled Minarm to transform data management and establish a truly data-centric culture. With more than 4,000 users using analytics applications, decisions are based on reliable analysis in near-real time when necessary.

The dashboards offer cross-functional visibility, reduce uncertainty, and enable interactive simulations, such as budget management or risk anticipation. Entities within the French Ministry of Armed Forces such as DMAE, AID, SIMMT and CICOS have seen significant improvements in operational efficiency. This unified approach has strengthened data governance and collaboration at all levels.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Comprehensive environment to facilitate decision-making

To effectively transform its decision-making process, the French Ministry of Armed Forces tackled several projects simultaneously with the aim of streamlining and centralizing its systems and optimizing data processing.

This global approach relies on Qlik, which provides support at every stage of the platform development process, from sourcing the data to its restitution, adapting to the complexity of a highly secure heterogeneous environment.

The success of this project is also due to the experts at Qlik and consultants at HeyData who worked with the ministry’s teams to optimize the infrastructure, including sensitive data, and ensuring critical performance for certain departments.
