Balancing a complex European supply chain
As a leading worldwide operator in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, Brüggen relies on speed and reliability. However, managing inventory and measuring supply chain KPIs across its European plants was difficult.
Brüggen’s teams relied on slow, manual SAP extractions and fragmented spreadsheets. Without a unified and timely view, balancing supply and demand was a complex task, leading to inefficiencies, potential material waste, and an inability to accurately track the business’s crucial “order on time and in full” metric.
APPROACH
A progressive journey to cloud analytics
Brüggen implemented Qlik to replace its manual processes, eventually moving to Qlik Cloud Analytics to deliver real-time dashboards and alerts.
By establishing a centralized data and analytics team, Brüggen brought order, governance, and simplicity to its reporting processes. Furthermore, the company embraced AI by deploying Qlik Answers, allowing employees to query hundreds of unstructured documents, such as sales contracts and HR policies, using natural language in just a few seconds.
RESULTS
Saving costs and improving forecast accuracy
By unifying visibility across its plants and its people, Brüggen has transformed its use of data. Eliminating redundant material purchasing has saved over €500,000, while Qlik has also helped to increase demand forecast accuracy from 65% to 75% or higher.
Today, over 400 employees access up to 50 comprehensive dashboards daily, saving countless hours previously spent wrangling with unreliable files. And with clean, trusted data laying the foundation, Brüggen is now positioned to leverage further AI and machine learning capabilities.
