Qlik Launches Canada Cloud Region to Support Data Residency and Government Compliance

Philadelphia, PA — Qlik® today announced the launch of its new Canada cloud region, expanding its global cloud infrastructure and reinforcing its commitment to delivering secure, high-performance, and compliant solutions for customers across Canada.

“As Canadian organizations accelerate their use of data and AI, data residency and compliance remain key priorities in every modernization initiative,” said Ingo Hardieck, CEO and Founder, GINQO. “Qlik’s Canada cloud region gives customers a practical path to keep data within Canada while still benefiting from advanced analytics, integration, and automation capabilities delivered through a secure, high-performance environment.”

Built to align with Government of Canada CCCS Moderate security standards, the Canada cloud region will support the processing, transfer, and storage of sensitive data. Qlik will pursue CCCS authorization following regional availability, enabling federal agencies and departments to adopt the platform once compliance requirements are met.

“Canada is a critical market for Qlik, and this new cloud region reflects our continued investment in helping organizations meet data residency requirements while unlocking the full value of their data,” shared Josh Good, VP, Tech Ecosystems & Strategy, Qlik. “We Canadians have always taken data governance seriously, and this new Canadian Cloud also aligns with Qlik’s broader AI Sovereignty Initiative, which is focused on giving organizations more control over where data and AI workloads run, how they are governed, and how they adapt as regulatory and operational needs continue to evolve.”

This announcement reflects Qlik’s continued investment in Canada, including its established R&D center in Ottawa and growing network of customers, partners, and employees across the country. The region will initially be available to commercial, provincial, and municipal customers, with federal adoption expected to follow based on compliance timelines. Additional certifications, including SOC 2 and ISO standards, will also apply, further strengthening trust and security across deployments.

Customers can take advantage of Qlik’s latest cloud and AI capabilities, including data integration, analytics, and automation tools such as Qlik Answers®, Qlik Predict®, and Qlik Talend Cloud®. These capabilities enable organizations to build data-driven systems that meet residency requirements while unlocking faster insights and operational efficiency.
