São Paulo, Brazil: Qlik® today announced that student registrations in the Qlik Academic Program has tripled across Latin American universities from 2025, with the number of newly participating educators nearly quadrupling, and institutions now enrolled across Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Central America.
Universities across the region had wanted to teach enterprise analytics for years, but faced three simultaneous barriers: licenses their budgets could not cover, no time to build curriculum for tools they did not yet own, and no credentials infrastructure that employers would recognize. All three barriers blocked adoption at once. All three had to come down at once for adoption to move.
Qlik removed them together. Qlik Analytics® and Qlik Talend Cloud® are provided free to accredited institutions. A complete, ready-to-deploy instructor curriculum is available at no cost, eliminating the need to build course content from scratch. Students earn Qlik Sense® Business Analyst and Data Architect Qualifications alongside Data Analytics and Data Literacy certifications, credentials tied to Qlik Analytics as it runs in production environments, readable by employers on the same terms as credentials earned inside a corporate training program.
"Latin America's data talent gap is not an enthusiasm problem; the region has plenty of that," said Eduardo Kfouri, VP and General Manager, Latin America, Sales and Alliances at Qlik. "It's a pipeline problem, and universities are the only lever fast enough to close it at scale. When registrations nearly triple in a single year, that's not momentum we created; that's demand that was already there waiting for access. A workforce that can't read, interpret, and act on data doesn't just cost individual employers; it caps what the entire regional economy can do with AI."
The depth of institutional adoption is clearest at Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS) in Argentina, which has run the program since 2017. At UNS, Qlik Analytics is embedded in both undergraduate coursework and faculty research, including resilience analysis and digital twin simulations.
"The Qlik Academic Program allows us to introduce students to a high-quality tool, preparing them for the world of work and reducing the digital gap in education," said Marisa Sánchez, Professor at Universidad Nacional del Sur. “Eight years of uninterrupted use at the research level provides the clearest available proof that the program sustains value beyond initial adoption.”
Accredited university-level institutions across Latin America that have not yet joined the program can register at qlik.com/academic-program. The program is open to accredited institutions worldwide.
