Philadelphia, PA
Qlik® today announced its partnership with MillerKnoll, a global collective of design brands built on the legacy of Herman Miller and Knoll, to transform its approach to data integration. MillerKnoll has created a robust, scalable platform that virtually eliminated data integration failures, improved system reliability, and reduced after-hours support demands by giving teams faster, more trusted access to data across the organization.

Guided by its shared purpose, “Design for the good of humankind,” MillerKnoll operates a highly complex data landscape spanning more than 25 companies and sub-brands, 18 ERP systems, multiple continents, currencies, languages, and legacy systems. Managing this environment is critical to ensuring products are delivered on time, and service commitments are met.

MillerKnoll’s first major initiative with Qlik Talend data solutions modernized its North American order fulfillment and transportation planning platform, integrating three core ERP systems, more than 30 data control tables, and 16 APIs in under six weeks using internal resources.

“We have an aggressive target for on-time delivery,” said Colton Porter, Manager of Advanced Planning Systems at MillerKnoll. “Before Qlik, 80% of our support tickets were due to data integration issues. Since implementing Qlik Talend data solutions, we've had zero downtime and full traceability. That alone is reason enough to choose Qlik. It cuts out huge amounts of noise and helps us respond to issues before they impact the customer.”

Today, MillerKnoll processes approximately a terabyte of supply chain planning data every day in a build-to-order environment. With Qlik, MillerKnoll has eliminated most ETL and integration failures, boosting reliability and reducing multi-day processes to just hours.

Operational Impact Highlights

  • Rapid transformation with high impact: A complex integration project spanning 3 ERP systems, 30+ tables, and 16 APIs was completed in under 6 weeks using internal teams.

  • Massive speed gains at scale: Processes that once took multiple days now run in hours, while handling ~1TB of supply chain data daily.

  • Operational visibility unlocked: Teams can now identify issues like supplier delays in days instead of months.

The unified data environment has also unlocked deeper operational insight. For example, MillerKnoll was able to identify a supplier that consistently delivered three days late, an insight that previously would have taken months of manual analysis. MillerKnoll now has a data environment that’s increasingly capable of harnessing the large and growing volumes of data generated by its supply chain with an agile and lean team.

Looking ahead, MillerKnoll plans to expand its use of Qlik to enhance data cataloging, streamline API development, and harness AI to support and automate decision-making, further strengthening its ability to operate proactively across its supply chain.

“MillerKnoll is a prime example of how organizations can turn extreme data complexity into a competitive advantage,” shared Matthew Hayes, General Manager, Data Business Unit at Qlik. “With Qlik Talend data solutions, they’ve improved performance, eliminated integration issues, and built a scalable foundation to support future innovation.”
