Philadelphia, PA: Qlik® today announced that the science and technology company Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany is using Qlik Cloud Analytics™ to power WorldView, a custom mobile application that gives executives immediate access to trusted, continuously updated business insights wherever decisions are being made.
Developed with Qlik partner Databridge, WorldView gives leaders access to critical KPIs in as little as five seconds, including finance performance, product performance, market trends and regional insights. The application replaces reliance on static reports, printed materials and manually prepared slide decks with a governed mobile experience designed for fast-moving global leadership teams.
For Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, the challenge was not simply making data available. It was making accurate, consistent and current data available in the moments where executives need to act — in meetings, while travelling and across global time zones.
“This is a global application, used in all corners of the world and throughout different time zones,” said Dorota Badiere, Senior Business Analytics Architect at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. “Thanks to Qlik, executives in every region and country are provided with data that is true, accurate and the same for everyone at the same time.”
Qlik Cloud Analytics serves as WorldView’s primary data engine and central analytics processor, transforming performance data from key enterprise sources into a fast, interactive mobile experience. Executives can move from a high-level view of performance into deeper analysis by product, country, region or market, helping them understand trends and act with greater confidence.
“WorldView is a powerful example of analytics moving from a reporting destination to a decisioning layer,” said Brendan Grady, EVP and GM, Analytics Business Unit at Qlik. “Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany is giving leaders more than faster access to dashboards. They are giving executives a trusted, governed view of performance in the moments where decisions happen.”
The application also creates a foundation for AI-enabled decision support, including first-level AI summarization that helps executives interpret key trends alongside charts and numbers. By moving to Qlik Cloud Analytics, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany has improved infrastructure stability, reduced manual reporting effort and strengthened its ability to scale trusted intelligence across the business.
