The role of Director, Product Management

As a Director, Product Management you will be responsible for helping to support the overall Strategic Direction and Vision for the Qlik product portfolio with a focus on Data Connectivity across our full Data Integration and Data Analytics portfolio. SAP data connectivity is a tactical and strategic advantage for both the QDI and QDA stack and will be an important focus of this position. As a product leader, you will manage business requirements, functional requirements and backlog in support of the development of the Qlik software platform. You will collaborate closely with R&D, Product Marketing, Sales/Support, Customers and professional services to collect feedback and communicate the direction of the product.  Additionally, you will represent Qlik to the external community including, clients, media and the analyst community.

 

How you will spend your time

  • Working with other Product Managers and members of R&D to ensure the delivery of high value, high quality, and differentiated solutions to market;
  • Working directly with customers and partners to understand their business challenges and translating those into product requirements
  • Working directly with customers and partners to perform validation
  • Collaborating throughout Qlik to define and deliver commercially successful products and services that advance the strategy of our company and increase the value of the enterprise;
  • Helping to drive breakthrough innovation in the area of Data Connectivity including our market differentiating SAP solutions;
  • Establishing and fostering a culture of customer-focused innovation, including a consistent and thorough process to understand customer needs;
  • Helping to ensure adherence across the product management function to key activities in the innovation and go-to-market process (e.g. competitive analysis, release readiness);
  • Delivering user stories, use cases, business requirements, and functional requirements according to industry best practices

 

You will be successful if you have

  • Degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Sciences, is preferred;
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience managing complex software portfolios and developing and delivering on measurable goals for both on premise and SAAS based solutions
  • Experience in the Data Integration and/or Data Analytics market
  • Knowledge of and experience with SAP, specifically including SAP application modules and data structures
  • Relevant product management experience, including managing product portfolios;
  • Experience working with and managing geographically distributed teams;
  • Demonstrated success working with C-level executives;
  • Business acumen and understanding of early-stage corporate enterprise value creation; 
  • A big-picture perspective with a passion for success and willingness to dive into the details necessary to achieve it;
  • Previous experience in technical product development is desirable;
  • Channel technology and/or related industry experience;
  • Related technology background;
  • Strong knowledge of marketing/media reporting and associated KPIs, data sources, and data processing requirements;
  • Experience in scrum-based Agile development methodology; 
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements in support of product development;
  • Experience working alongside R&D and other teams to deliver products, including working directly with teams comprised of a variety of skills; and 
  • Direct product delivery experience identifying commercially viable products and release planning.
