Qlik’s Developer Relations team is looking for a person who would prefer to spend most of their time submerged in the world of the developer, looking for the next opportunity to create.  Very much a hands-on engineer role, as Developer Relations Engineer, you will be expected to look for opportunities to engage, encourage, and foster Qlik’s relationship and reputation with external developers as well as represent the needs of these developers to our internal organization.  The role of Developer Relations Engineer is meant for a developer who not just loves to code and innovate, but also loves to talk and write about coding.  All projects created by the team are meant to be shared in order to enable and inspire other developers.


Beyond innovation, the Developer Relations Engineer will evangelize the Qlik platform's APIs and his or her solutions to the external developer community and work to use their project to share knowledge.  

Also, in this role a person should look to engage with the developer community through collaboration on efforts and open source projects.


The right person for this role will enjoy:

  • Getting hands on in innovating with emerging technologies.
  • Growing and supporting developer communities.
  • Developing with new APIs and creating impactful projects. 
  • Enabling other developers virtually.
  • Teaching others about Qlik's APIs through writing blogs, tutorials, etc.
  • Attending and presenting at conferences.
  • Social coding events like hackathons.


Minimum qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in related technical degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years experience in Qlik Sense and Business Intelligence.
  • 5+ years experience with JavaScript / HTML / CSS.
  • Some experience with .NET.
  • 5+ years developing web sites and/or applications.


Preferred qualifications

  • Experience as a developer in an open source development project.
  • Experience with Node / Angular / and other frameworks.
  • Experience activity in the developer community and forums.
  • Experience with the use of APIs.
  • Experience in data modeling and/or business intelligence.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong desire to expand and improve skills.
