How you will spend your time as our next Programmer Writer

We are looking for a Programmer Technical Writer to help software developers across the world make their work with Qlik’s technology portfolio faster, easier, and more productive.

As a Programmer Technical Writer in Knowledge & Learning group, you will work with other writers in an international team. The ideal candidate is curious and inquisitive, with a structured and independent approach to completing their assignments. As well, the ideal candidate will have several years’ experience writing technical documentation for developers.

This might be the position for you if you can:

  • Read and write code.
  • Write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment with a customer-centric approach to documentation.
  • Analyze problems and make logical conclusions.
  • Work independently, and with different groups such as Developer Relations, Product Management, R&D, and Customer Support.
  • Take responsibility and initiative while tracking your deadlines.
  • Experiment and learn about developer tools, cloud technologies, and data technologies.
  • Quickly grasp new technologies and communicate their inherent complexities in a simple, straightforward fashion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating, maintaining, and updating documentation for our developer community. This includes reference, overview, procedural and tutorial content.
  • Describing software architectures and explaining how to use SDKs, APIs, and developer tools to develop software applications in a simple, straightforward manner.
  • Writing, testing, and publishing code examples and snippets that illustrate Qlik's best practices.
  • Ensure that code examples and error handling adhere to team guidelines.
  • Identifying key use cases.


  • More than 4 years of experience as a technical writer
  • Self-driven, organized, and results-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical writing certification, or related discipline.
  • Excellent English - written and oral communication skills
  • Able to describe problems to others and interview developers
  • Comfortable working with a variety of software tools and systems
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.


The ideal candidate has the following skills and experiences

  • Worked with programming languages such as JavaScript, .NET, and C#.
  • Can read other programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Worked with REST or GraphQL endpoints.
  • Experience with integrated development environments (IDE) such as Visual Studio or Eclipse.
  • Swagger 2.0 or OpenAPI 3.0 specification, or other API documentation generation tools
  • Postman, Curl, or other test platforms
  • Content publishing tools such as MadCap Flare and other XML-based tools.
  • Server and cloud deployments
