Steven Forster , Supply Management Specialist, Defense Logistics Agency
After graduating with a Digital Communications degree from Lebanon Valley College in 2005 there weren't many opportunities to utilize my education in central PA. I picked up the only job available at the time in the automotive service industry, which lead to working as an associate at Amazon which transitioned into becoming a forklift driver for Arnold Logistics. An opportunity presented itself to join Defense Logistics Agency as a Material Handler which I gladly took. Working in the warehouse isn't where I wanted to be but I knew it's what I had to do to get to where I wanted to be. Working my way through different promotions I left DLA for a position with the United States Army Security Assistance Command where I gained much of my experience in BI and analytics with a Tableau Certification and acquired my lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from the Army Material Command in 2011. Being presented with an opportunity to return to DLA in 2015 I was able to acquire my MOST certification for Engineered labor standards as a part of the Business and Technology team in J4. In 2016 I was able to join our Operations and Workload Team where I was earned Qlik Certifications in Advanced Geo Analytics Development, Data Analytics, Data Literacy, Advanced-Data Modeling, and Advanced interface Design which allowed me to develop operational business intelligence applications for the DLA Distribution Enterprise. Some of these applications include our customer order fulfillment performance to all service members, support to the COVID strategic missions for the USNS Mercy and Comfort, Covid Vaccine Operations, Covid Test Kit Mission as well as several others.
The utilization of new capabilities has enabled DLA to advance our mission through the development of understandable and actionable ways Senior Leaders can make decisions and drive change in the organization. We’ve been able to increase the quality and speed of our management decisions, communications, and team productivity. Search for code: 663930 to locate session during the QlikWorld Event

ABB, a global technology provider that specializes in electrification, robotics, and motion solutions needed to build a solid sustainable strategy to increase productivity. ABB's SAP systems were crucial to operations, however, extracting insights from the data became inefficient. As a leading automation authority, they knew their analytics pipelines had to change to uberize enterprise decision-making with timely access to real-time global data.
