- Data Mart Product Manager and Data Mart Business Analyst- Procurement Business Unit Controller
- Procurement Controller [80%] & Part-Time Student
Easy accessible data, executive management reporting and a large userbase on Qlik Sense – all this is the result of years of tuning by the Procurement Controlling department of Siemens Smart Infrastructure. Starting at a diverse tool environment, the efforts to create a monthly report cost the department an immense amount of precious working time. Different interfaces and passwords, not user friendly masks and lack of standardization was the battles the users had to face every month with high manual effort.
All this manual labor was transformed step by step by automatizing the data collection, integrating Qlik Sense, training the users and establishing a guided analytics dashboard with a state of the art functionality. Supported by the SI IT DataMart the data resides in a secured cloud environment powered by automatized data access and complex data models in the background. The results are solid. Siemens realizes four key criteria with their units dashboards:
• Their ease of use by standardization and a single source of truth as well as a connection of multiple sources
• High user acceptance through high quality information, trust in the app and data preparation and time saving for all users
• Efficiency through automatic updates, and single point of entry to all applications
• Cost: No time loss for adapting to different tool user interfaces, saving time to focus on operational tasks to generate business value.
All of this, the Journey and the end result will be shared in this breakout session, a guided and gripping development with the best in class use case to take away.
