Sixteen years. Our Sweet Sixteen, if you're counting. I'd argue it's less a milestone for us and more a proof point.
In our opinion, to be a Leader across three major platform shifts, desktop BI, cloud analytics, and now agentic AI, you don't get lucky. You make the right architectural decisions. Some of those decisions looked unconventional at the time.
While Qlik's associative in-memory engine was originally designed to support human thinking and exploration, it’s even better at driving agentic reasoning. It supports free-form exploration without predetermined query structures. It handles step-by-step reasoning by maintaining context from question to question and quickly shifting to new perspectives without having to re-run queries over and over. Qlik Answers is built-in to our platform, delivering an agentic experience that takes full advantage of our engine’s power. And with our extensive APIs and now MCP tools, all AI can benefit from our engine in the same way people have for over two decades.
The decisions we made years ago are compounding in our favor right now, and enterprises evaluating analytics platforms for AI workloads should pay close attention to what's under the hood. The back-end matters, and SQL doesn’t cut it for agentic analytics and reasoning.
This meaningful because it’s not a bolt-on AI capability, but an integrated architecture that serves as an intelligence layer for AI. Qlik Answers supports conversational analysis and multi-step reasoning across both structured and unstructured data. It can dynamically generate dashboards on demand. Through Qlik Automate, it can autonomously route alerts and trigger downstream actions. These aren't separate features. They're components of a coordinated agentic architecture, powered by the analytics engine, designed to support how AI will actually deliver value inside the enterprise.
Most vendors are adding AI to analytics platforms and portfolios that were never designed for it. Maybe we got lucky, but I believe we're in a different position: an analytics engine built for the kind of reasoning and exploration that agentic AI demands, with an agentic system built to take action on what it finds. For organizations building out their agentic AI strategy now, that difference matters.
I am often asked about cloud independence. Some see Qlik's cloud-agnostic model as a limitation. I see it as one of our most deliberate strategic choices. We support AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and on-premises deployments because our customers' data lives in all of those places. In a world of increasing multi-cloud complexity, an analytics platform that meets enterprises where their data already lives is not a gap, it's an advantage. Vendor lock-in is a real cost. Enterprises that want to build a durable, open data strategy should be skeptical of analytics platforms that only work well within a single cloud ecosystem.
Sixteen years of being recognized as a Leader is not something I take lightly. I believe it represents not longevity, but a track record of making the right architectural decisions at the right time and having the discipline to stay with them. The shift to agentic AI is the most significant platform change we've seen. The enterprises that win in this era won't necessarily be the ones who picked the most recognizable analytics vendor. They'll be the ones who looked carefully at what was built into the platform and made a decision built to compound.
For Qlik, AI was never an afterthought. I think this year's recognition is one more data point in a system that's been building for a long time.
